Mrs. Maxwell’s Big Italian

Price range: $3.50 through $57.50

From Mrs. Maxwell of Mexico, Missouri. She was originally given seeds by a friend from Italy and loved them so much that for over 30 years she saved her own seed, choosing the largest, earliest and non-cracking fruits each year. Vigorous potato-leaved plants produce 1-2 pound, dark- pink beefsteak tomatoes with incredible flavor. A great choice for a fresh slicing tomato or for canning. Indeterminate, 80 days from transplant.
