This little beauty gets its name from its unique, delicate foliage that forms a ‘mist’ around its flowers. The multi-petalled flowers stand above the foliage in a nice mix of cool colors: blue, pink, purple, and white. The airy look of the plant makes a good contrast to larger-leaves and flowers in a mixed bed. It is also nice in containers. Both the flowers and the balloon-shaped, spiked seedpods that follow are good for cutting and also dry nicely. An easy-to-grow annual. Succession planting is recommended for a steady supply of flowers, but the seedpods provide interest even when the blooms are finished.
