Originally from the Island of Corsica, off the west coast of Italy. French Soldier, Peter Pieri, brought this onions seed to Walla Walla, Washington in the late 1800’s. Super sweet flavor. Can be used fresh, cooked or froze. Has a short shelf life.

Planting Method:

Direct sow in spring.
In northern climates it is recommended to start indoors, sprinkling multiple seeds into each container, 8 weeks before last frost date.

Planting Depth:



Plant 2 seeds per inch in rows 12-18" apart. Thin to 4-6" apart for larger onions.
To transplant, separate young plants and set 4-6" apart.
