Red Swan

Price range: $3.75 through $209.75

Deep rose-purple colored pods are 4-6″ long, stringless and flat like romano beans.  Pods turn bright green when steamed.  Bred by the late Robert Lobitz in Minnesota from a cross between a purple snap bean and a pinto bean.  Robert loved beans and all of the unique colors, he call beans “the poor man’s jewels.”  Tan seeds can be used as a dry bean in soups and stews.  Bush habit, 55 days.
