BadaBing! F1 represents A.P. Whaley’s first tomato introduction featuring TomatoGuard™, an advanced disease-resistance package providing protection against Septoria Leaf Spot (SLS), Early Blight (EB), and Late Blight (LB). This unique combination of resistances addresses some of the most persistent and destructive diseases facing tomato growers, particularly in the Midwest and Eastern United States.
With outstanding flavor and exceptional disease tolerance, BadaBing! F1 is well suited for both open-field and protected (tunnel) production, even in challenging growing environments. Plants produce uniform, bright red, 1.5-inch cocktail-sized fruits with excellent eating quality and strong market appeal.
BadaBing! F1 was developed using licensed donor lines for SLS and EB from Dr. Martha Mutschler of Cornell University. BadaBing! F1 offers Multiple Pest Resistance (MPR), including resistance to Septoria Leaf Spot (IR), Early Blight (IR), Tobacco Mosaic Virus (HR), Bacterial Speck (HR), Root Knot Nematode (HR), Fusarium Wilt Races 1 and 2 (HR), Verticillium Wilt (Va/Vd) (HR), and Late Blight (PH2 & PH3) (HR).
Fungicide control for these diseases is often difficult for conventional producers and nearly impossible for organic growers. The disease-resistance traits found in TomatoGuard™ hybrids are designed to significantly reduce disease pressure and lower the risk of crop loss, offering growers a more reliable production option and increases of flavor in fruits due to healthy plants.
