When baked, the flesh of spaghetti squash can be separated into strands that are commonly used in place of pasta in dishes – hence its name. Popular with children, dieters, and those with gluten intolerance. Naturally a mild squash, but we find that home-grown ones have more flavor than store-bought. Spaghetti squash originated in China and was brought to the USA in 1936.
