Unique dual-purpose squash on long aggressive vines. Best used as a summer squash: harvest baby green fruits when 8-12” long. Fruits are sweet like zucchini and great steamed, grilled or sliced raw. If not used for summer squash, the fruits will grow up to 3 feet long with meaty necks that can be used as you would any winter squash. 60 days for summer squash, 90 days for winter squash.

The ‘zucchetta’ type makes a fantastic summer squash. I actually find it sweeter tasting than zucchini. And boy, is it productive! The long necks are good eaten fresh even when the squash has gotten fairly large, before the skin toughens. Pretty underwhelming as a winter squash.
