The original strain first introduced by the late H. W. Alfrey of Knoxville, Tennessee. Grown as much to shock the prudish as for its culinary value. A great conversation piece! Pods are 4-6 inches long, blunt-ended, and mature to a deep red. Great for spicing up your salsa, pickling whole and also for chili powder. Dense plants grow 24-30 inches tall.
