Mexican husk tomato
70-80 days from transplant
Both outer husk and fruit are green with dark purple blushing. Harvest when fruit fills out its husk and husk begins to split.
None. Optionally, cage or stake to keep from sprawling.
Transplanting recommended. Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Set out when all danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed. Two or more plants are needed for proper fertilization and fruit set. Isolated tomatillo plants rarely set fruit.
Space plants 24" apart in rows 3-4 feet apart.
