Prescott Fond Blanc

$3.00$62.00

French heirloom documented by Vilmorin in the 1880’s.  Famous throughout France.  Fruits weigh 5-8 pounds and have a distinct bumpy outer shell.  Many times they are mistaken for a squash.  One of the most fragrant and flavorful of all melons when grown properly.  Succulant, dark salmon-orange flesh.  Always serve at room temperature.  Melons will not slip, so we find it is best to pick slightly green and ripen indoors.  Prefers a hot, dry, growing season.  Does well for us in Wisconsin.  80 days.
