Introduced by Comstock, Ferre and Company in the 1980s, from seeds obtained from Italy.  A garden staple in Comstock’s hometown of Wethersfield, Connecticut.  Beautiful, meaty, deep red fruits weigh up to one pound and have very few seeds.  A great dual purpose variety for canning or fresh eating.  80-85 days from transplant.
